A fifty-year-old man was killed this Saturday a 27-year-old woman and a 60-year-old manbefore he committed suicide, in Saint-Dionisi, a town west of Nîmes, the prosecution announced. “The first elements allow us to consider a double murder followed by the suicide of the author of this double crime”explained the public prosecutor of Nîmes, Cécile Gensac, in her press release, specifying that “The victims could be (the killer’s) ex-partner and her new relationship.”
The events took place around 1 pm and took place “outside the gym” from the community, “by shooting (and) in the presence of several witnesses”, the master added. Previously, the gendarmerie announced that the attacker first shot a young woman in front of the fitness center, then entered the gym to kill the 60-year-old man, and then exited the building and turned the gun on him.
“No criminal proceedings were pending due to facts related to the couple’s relationship” between the 51-year-old shooter and his ex-partner, Ms. Gensac added.
Psychological care of several witnesses
“At the same time, investigations are underway to reconstruct the family environment and interview witnesses. A medical-psychological emergency unit has been established to meet the needs of witnesses and relatives.”she continued.
The flagrant investigation, open to assassinations, was entrusted to the investigative brigade of the Vauvert gendarmerie and the investigative department of Nîmes.
