Deputy of the 7th constituency of Gironde (Pessac-Gradignan) Bérangère Couillard advances to a higher level in the new Borneo government. She was appointed Minister for Gender Equality this Thursday, replacing Isabelle Rome.
Bérangère Couillard is not new to this topic: she was the rapporteur for the proposed LREM law aimed at protecting victims of domestic violence and was a member of the women’s rights delegation as well as the High Council for Equality (HCE).
Entering the government in 2022
Originally from Rennes, she moved to the southwest for her job. Regional director of a fashion brand, she was new to politics elected MP in 2017 with La République en Marche. Re-elected in 2022, she entered immediately to the government, thanks to the reconstruction last July.
