We can never say enough: walking, apart from being a very accessible sport, is a gold mine of health. On the benefits list? In addition to toning the body, it reduces the risk of cardiovascular diseases such as coronary insufficiency, high blood pressure and varicose veins. In terms of mental health, walking again has many benefits as it reduces the risk of depression. In short, it is a discipline that everyone should practice. Recently, the app Macadam (which pays users to encourage them to walk) studied the walking habits of French residents through a survey. The result? It seems that the French are the kings of walking… well, rather French women! Indeed, according to the results of the study, 44% of respondents walk between 30 minutes and 1 hour every day. But when only 36% of men prefer it as a means of transportation, 64% of women prefer it.
As for time, 16% of users walk two to three hours a day, 44% between 30 minutes and an hour and 22% one to two hours.

But then what motivates the French to march? On the first step of the pedestal we find health! Yes, 64% of them practice walking to stay fit. Good news! Most of the respondents also noticed an improvement in their physical health, and 67% said they felt better mentally. If we needed further proof of the benefits of walking, here it is.
